2023
As a full-time staff member for the Student Statesmanship Institute from 2017-2019, Peter was responsible for communications and information technology at Michigan's premier worldview and leadership organization for teens. After moving on to a new position, he continued to assist with web and graphic design on an as-needed basis for this growing and dynamic ministry. You can view their website at www.ssionline.org.
2022
Stepping in to revive a web project started by another team, we were able to hone in on the design needs of this budding travel group and deliver a website that meets their needs as they create a hub for upcoming trips, photo galleries, and travel information.
2016
As Deputy Campaign Manager, Peter coordinated grassroots efforts for the re-election campaign of Congressman Tim Walberg, setting up and maintaining voter databases, recruiting and training volunteers, and planning volunteer efforts across Michigan's 7th District. He also played a key role in the campaign's digital presence, creating social media campaigns and providing in-house graphic design. Congressman Walberg won re-election by a 15% margin in what the Detroit News called "one of the hardest fought and most expensive congressional races in Michigan" that year.
2015
When the city of Jackson, Michigan needed fresh leadership and a new vision, Bill Jors stepped forward. Through a strong digital campaign, a motivated grassroots network of supporters and volunteers, and a uniquely positive message, the first-time candidate carried nearly 60% of the vote on election night in a predominantly Democratic area. After a recount, the effort proved an even bigger success as another conservative candidate on the slate, local businessman and attorney Craig Pappin, was declared the victor of a hard-fought three-way City Council race—by three votes.
2014
Running a statewide campaign on a shoestring budget is tough. We implemented a comprehensive digital strategy to put Jonathan Williams' message in front of state convention delegates when it mattered most, resulting in the State Board of Education nomination at the Michigan Republican State Convention. Throughout the general election campaign, Wilberforce Strategies continued to ensure that the team delivered the campaign's message of parent-driven education to voters through social media, digital advertising, and good old-fashioned door-to-door campaigning in partnership with other conservative candidates.
2013
In 2013, Michigan's state legislative leadership appeared unlikely to schedule a vote on a citizen-initiated bill allowing consumers to opt-out of health plans that paid for abortions as part of their insurance coverage. Peter helped to spearhead a grassroots Twitter campaign asking leaders to "#ScheduleIt"—and they ultimately did, with insiders stating the hundreds of citizens who participated in the campaign (alongside other grassroots efforts) likely were "the straw that broke the camel's back," pushing House leadership to bring the legislation to a successful vote.

Volunteer management, graphic design, communications, tech, and folding t-shirts have been part of my regular routine in different ways across the political and non-profit spectrum for more than a decade. I love organizing people to do things that make a difference, whether that means leading a chainsaw crew after a storm or doing the behind-the-scenes tech, data, and marketing work that makes movements possible. I've held various roles in other campaigns and organizations since 2012 that don't fit the consulting role discussed here, but that the Lord has certainly used to shape my knowledge and skill sets across a variety of use cases. -Peter
